Overview

The traditional plan-driven approach for project management sometimes fails for some project types, such as innovation projects or software development projects. These project types work in uncertain or constantly changing environment due to unknown technologies and changing or emerging requirements. Dynamic project management embraces change and brings customer competitive advantage by reducing the time needed for development activities.

The project life cycle gets broken down into several iterations. At the end of each iteration the team delivers the system or development task increment and the customer can evaluate the outcome and plan the next iteration. Early and constant feedback allows for a close alignment to business needs and produces the results that are really needed, even if they were not specified right at the start.
